Last fall, Kati Foster of Katdog Couture put together a group camping/photoshoot that would start at sunset and end after sunrise.
We first all arrived at the campground and decided what we'd be wearing and shooting quickly before the sun set. We got to our chosen location a little late, so we only were able to squeeze a few shots in before relying on Max's soft boxes and flash. Myriah had given me elf ears, a crown and green cloak, and we were able to get a few awesome shots before the light left us. Trust and believe it was absolutely freezing on that mountain.
We went back to the campsite and changed outfits. At first Myriah put me in just the green cloak and some of Amy Metsker's Jewelry, with the elf ears still spirit gummed in place. She found an amazing spot nestled in the rhododendron and set up a large light umbrella.
While Myriah shot Nichole in a sleeping beauty dress, asleep on a bed of leaves, I changed into a Katdog Couture dress, and Kati styled me in one of her oldest and most prized personal jackets, a fitted black peacoat/cloak. Peacloak.
Eventually we decided we had to catch an hour or two of sleep if we were going to make it to sunrise, and we passed out in the backs of our cars. We woke early dawn to get into makeup and Katdog dresses and drive to the mountain overlook before the sun rose. We made it just in time and Max and Mayriah shot us well into the morning.
